However, he later realized the necessity to distance himself from this tag, as he disclosed in a recent interview with The Indian Express. He expressed, "There lies an eternal trap for all actors where, if you're playing a commercial lead, you'll be trapped by a certain archetype of a character or a hero. And here it was this, whatever you call it (serial kisser), it was an absurd name. It was actually given to myself as a joke but stuck with people for some reason." The actor known for his role in Tiger 3 acknowledged the initial resonance of the "serial-kisser" moniker with audiences and journalists, contributing to the success of his films at the box office. However, Emraan noted a conscious decision to distance himself from this characterization, anticipating that audiences might grow weary of it. "At one point, I felt that it had played its part and I was ready to move on before it was rejected badly. You can’t serve the same dish to people time and again. You have to do something different," he added.
Emraan Hashmi's portrayal of ISI agent Aatish Rehman in Tiger 3 has received acclaim, propelling the film to significant commercial success. His recent appearance in Selfiee alongside Akshay Kumar failed to make a mark.
